DC 003 - Directions for the using the Computer/Video projector

 

1.      Lower the screen using the screen control panel located on the front left column.

 

2.      Unlock the front door of the equipment rack.

 

3.      Turn on the “Main Power” switch at the top right of the equipment rack so that the red operation light is illuminated.

 

4.      Turn on the video projector using the projector remote (located inside the drawer in the equipment rack) by aiming the remote directly at the video projector.  You will notice that a small GREEN operation light up on the video projector, indicating that the projector is on and warming up.

 

5.      Wait about 20 seconds until you see the projector illuminate the screen.

(Note: This system will automatically detect and play foreign standard video tapes)

 

1.        Push the “VIDEO 1” input select button on the projector remote.

 

2.        Turn on the “Amplifier” and set the “Master” volume control to the 12 o’clock position.

 

3.        Turn on the VCR in the equipment rack and insert your video tape.  Push “PLAY” on the VCR to start the tape if necessary (some tapes will start playing automatically after you insert them into the VCR).

 

4.        You can also use the VCR remote control, located in the drawer in the equipment rack, to control the VCR functions.

 

5.        Adjust the volume of the video tape by adjusting the dial marked “VCR” on the amplifier.

 

 

 

 

(Note: These are directions for PC and newer MAC laptops with a regular VGA or HD 15 pin video output connector.  If you are using an older MAC laptop you will have to use a MAC video adaptor-call AV)

 

1.        Don’t turn on your computer yet!  Get the computer video cable out of the drawer in the equipment rack and plug one end into your laptop’s video jack and the other into the jack labeled “PC” on the wall plate to the right of the projection screen.

 

2.        If you need network or internet access, hook up the Ethernet cable from the drawer to your laptop and to the Ethernet jack on the column (the one with the red dot is active).

 

3.        If you need sound from your computer to come out of the room’s PA system, hook the audio cable from the drawer to your computer and to the audio jack on the wall plate marked “PC AUDIO”.  Turn on the amplifier in the rack and control the volume by adjusting the dials marked “MASTER” and “PC AUDIO” on the equipment rack (and with the volume control on the computer).

 

4.        Push the “DATA 1” input select button on the projector remote.

 

5.        Now turn on your computer.  The computer image should automatically come up on the projection screen.  If it does not you’ll have to access your computer’s video control panel and manually turn on the signal to the projector.

 

 


IMPORTANT!!!   When you are done:

 

1.      Turn off the video projector with the remote control.  You should realize that even though the projector lamp has turned off, the projector cooling fan will remain running for approximately 30 seconds.  This is normal.

 

2.      If applicable: stop and eject your video tape and turn off the power on the VCR.

3.      If applicable: return all remote controls to the drawer in the equipment rack.

4.      If applicable: unhook all the cables from the computer, coil them up, and return them to the drawer in the equipment rack

5.      Raise the projection screen. 

 

6.      Lock the cabinet!
