11/5/05 Gettysburg 3, Haverford 0 (30-17, 30-16, 30-26)

BALTIMORE -- Heidi Jutsum had nine kills and a solo block and fellow seniors Samantha Thomson and Nina Mullenhard added 14 and 10 digs, respectively, in their final appearances for Haverford.

Setter Emily Hinchcliff provided 24 assists and two service aces and sophomore classmate Laura Nuyen had six kills for the Fords (18-9).

Gettysburg (19-12) will meet fourth-seed Franklin & Marshall (20-8) in the conference final. The Diplomats upset top-seed and tournament host Johns Hopkins (23-6) in Saturday's second semifinal, 3-1.

10/29/05 Haverford 3, Dickinson 1 (25-30, 30-26, 30-25, 30-22)

CARLISLE -- Nina Mullenhard (14 digs, two blocks) and Laura Nuyen (20 digs, two service aces) each recorded 13 kills, and Dana Mullenhard added 11 kills, four assists, three aces and three blocks as Haverford rallied from a game down to defeat Centennial Conference host Dickinson (7-16, 2-8).

Samantha Thomson recorded 27 digs and Emily Hinchcliff added 41 assists, 14 digs and a solo block for the Fords (18-8, 8-2). Heidi Jutsum had a team-high five blocks, followed by three each from Nuyen and K'Lynn Solt.

Third-seeded Haverford will face second-seeded Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference semifinals Saturday at top-seeded Johns Hopkins.

10/27/05 Haverford 3, Swarthmore 1 (30-12, 30-22, 22-30, 30-22)

SWARTHMORE -- Heidi Jutsum, Nina Mullenhard, Laura Nuyen and Dana Mullenhard recorded 14, 13, 13 and 12 kills, respectively, as Haverford defeated host Swarthmore (13-14, 6-4) Thursday evening.

The win by the Fords (17-8, 7-2) clinches their sixth straight Centennial Conference playoff appearance.

Emily Hinchcliff handed out 50 assists and Samantha Thomson tied Nina Mullenhard for the team-high with 26 digs. Jutsum, Nuyen and K'Lynn Solt each had two blocks, while Hinchcliff and Thomson each recorded three service aces to Nuyen's two.

10/22/05 Messiah 3, Haverford 2 (30-21, 22-30, 25-30, 30-24, 15-10)

HAVERFORD -- Nina Mullenhard (17 digs, three blocks, two service aces), Laura Nuyen (13 digs) and Dana Mullenhard (three aces) recorded 15, 12 and 10 kills, respectively, in the Fords' five-game nightcap of Saturday's tri-match at the GIAC Gooding Arena.

Emily Hinchcliff (50 assists) and Samantha Thomson (29 digs) recorded team-highs for the Fords (16-8) in the non-conference finale.

10/22/05 Haverford 3, McDaniel 2 (30-26, 28-30, 25-30, 31-29, 15-13)

HAVERFORD -- Laura Nuyen recorded 20 kills and Heidi Jutsum (six blocks) and Dana Mullenhard (five service aces) added 11 kills each as host Haverford won the first athletic contest staged in the new Calvin J. Gooding '84 Arena of the Douglas B. Gardner '83 Integrated Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.

The Fords (16-7, 6-2) returned from the brink of match point in Game 4, then rallied from early deficits in the last game to win on Jutsum's match-clinching kill at the net. Nina Mullenhard and K'Lynn Solt had 10 kills apiece and Emily Hinchcliff provided 46 assists for the Fords (16-7, 6-2). Jutsum, Nina Mullenhard, Nuyen and Samantha Thomson (HC five-game-record 48 digs) each served up two aces, while Hinchcliff, Dana Mullenhard, Nuyen and Solt each posted two blocks.

The win over the Green Terror (9-15, 5-3) breaks a tie for fourth-place in the Centennial Conference and leaves Haverford just a half-game behind Franklin & Marshall (14-4, 7-2) and Gettysburg (14-9, 7-2) for second-place behind frontrunner Johns Hopkins (20-5, 6-3).

10/19/05 Haverford 3, Bryn Mawr 0 (30-14, 30-16, 30-25)

HAVERFORD -- K'Lynn Solt had eight kills and one block and Emily Hinchcliff added 35 assists, two service aces and six digs as Haverford (15-7, 5-2) rolled over Centennial Conference visitor Bryn Mawr (5-15, 1-6) Wednesday night.

Laura Nuyen, Dana Mullenhard, Nina Mullenhard and Iris Early each had seven kills, while Samantha Thomson recorded team-highs of nine digs and five aces for the Fords (15-7, 5-2).

10/15/05 Johns Hopkins 3, Haverford 2 (32-30, 30-23, 23-30, 26-30, 5-15)

HAVERFORD -- Despite a furious comeback from two games down, Haverford fell in five to Centennial Conference visitor Johns Hopkins (19-5, 5-1) Saturday.

The Fords (14-7, 4-2) played without senior kills leader Heidi Jutsum, who was unable to return in time for the match from a relief trip to Guatemala, where she went on her own during Haverford's week-long Fall Break.

10/8/05 Seven Sisters Tournament at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE -- Lisa Perkins led Haverford with 10 kills and five service aces in Sunday's fifth-place match against Mount Holyoke. Nina Mullenhard had a team-high 17 digs, four aces and a solo block, while Heidi Jutsum (seven kills), Emily Hinchcliff (28 assists) and all-tournament selection Samantha Thomson (15 digs) played well in the win. Blocks were recorded by K'Lynn Solt, Hinchcliff and Iris Early.

In Saturday's opening loss to eventual champion Smith (14-3), Jutsum recorded a block and 14 kills, including the 1000th kill of her career. Emily Hinchcliff posted a service ace and 29 assists, while Thomson had 20 digs. In the Bryn Mawr sweep, Dana Mullenhard and K'Lynn Solt had 14 and eight kills, respectively. Hinchcliff had 39 assists, Nina Mullenhard 15 digs and Thomson three aces.

10/5/05 Haverford 3, Washington (Md.) 0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-17)

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Heidi Jutsum and Laura Nuyen each had 13 kills and Emily Hinchcliff recorded 38 assists, 12 digs and three aces as Haverford regained a share of first-place in the Centennial Conference with a sweep of Washington (7-12, 0-3) Wednesday evening.

Samantha Thomson (25 digs), Nina Mullenhard (six aces) and K'Lynn Solt (solo block) also had good outings for the Fords (12-5, 4-1), who are now in a three-way tie for first-place with Franklin & Marshall (11-3, 4-1) and McDaniel (8-7, 4-1).

10/1/05 Gettysburg 3, Haverford 2 (28-30, 30-28, 30-24, 27-30, 15-11)

HAVERFORD -- Laura Nuyen had 15 kills, 10 digs, five aces and three blocks, but host Haverford was joined atop the Centennial Conference standings by Gettysburg (10-7, 3-1) in a close match Saturday.

Heidi Jutsum added 11 kills and three blocks, Nina Mullenard (two aces) and Dana Mullenhard (six assists, two aces, three blocks) each had 10 kills for the Fords (11-5, 3-1). Emily Hinchcliff had 42 assists, 11 digs and a block to go with a team-high of 22 digs by Samantha Thomson and 11 by Jordan Thompson. Four of K'Lynn Solt's team-high six blocks were unassisted.

9/28/05 Haverford 3, Muhlenberg 1 (26-30, 30-18, 30-16, 30-20)

HAVERFORD ­ Reigning Centennial Conference volleyball player of the week Nina Mullenhard and her sister Dana Mullenhard had 12 kills each and 10 aces combined as host Haverford rallied from a game down against Muhlenberg (8-7, 1-1) Wednesday night.

The win by the first-place Fords (11-4, 3-0) broke a tie in the loss column between the last two unbeaten teams in the 11-member conference.

K’Lynn Solt had seven solo blocks and tied a Haverford four-game record of nine total blocks set by Anne Suskind against Bryn Mawr on Oct. 18, 1999. Solt’s total was one shy of the Fords’ all-time record of 10 blocks set by Jelyn Meyer in a five-game match versus Elizabethtown on Sept. 13, 2002.

Emily Hinchcliff (45 assists), Samantha Thomson (19 digs), Laura Nuyen (11 digs) and Heidi Jutsum (solo block) also had big nights for the Fords.

9/22/05 Haverford 3, Franklin & Marshall 2 (28-30, 30-24, 30-26, 9-30, 16-14)

LANCASTER -- Heidi Jutsum (three blocks) and Laura Nuyen recorded 14 kills each and Nina Mullenhard (14 digs) added 13 kills as Haverford stunned host F&M in a match of unbeaten Centennial Conference teams Thursday evening.

The Diplomats (8-2, 2-1) had defeated the Fords in three straight games Saturday at the Lebanon Valley Invitational, and prior to Thursday's loss, had not been beaten at home by Haverford in more than a decade.

Emily Hinchcliff had 50 assists and 19 digs, and Samantha Thomson 24 digs and a service ace for the Fords (10-4, 2-0). K'Lynn Solt and Dana Mullenhard (ace) tied for the team-high with four blocks apiece.

9/20/05 Haverford 3, Ursinus 0 (30-18, 30-21, 30-13)

COLLEGEVILLE -- Senior Nina Mullenhard had 11 kills, 11 digs and three blocks at Haverford won its Centennial Conference opener Tuesday night at Ursinus.

Heidi Jutsum added nine kills and Samantha Thomson had team-highs of 18 digs and three aces for the Fords (9-4, 1-0). Emily Hinchcliff posted 11 digs and 25 assists, while K'Lynn Solt joined Mullenhard with three blocks including two solos.

Haverford travels to Lancaster Thursday evening to meet Franklin & Marshall for the second time in a week. The Fords lost a close, 30-23, 30-28, 30-28 non-conference decision to the Diplomats Saturday afternoon at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.

9/17/05 Lebanon Valley Invitational

ANNVILLE -- Heidi Jutsum had 14 kills and Laura Nuyen added 10 kills, 12 digs and two aces in the Fords' sweep of Neumann. Emily Hinchcliff had 38 aces and two aces, K'Lynn Solt five aces and two blocks and Samantha Thomson 23 digs in the win.

In a non-Centennial versus F&M, Nina Mullenhard had a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs while Hinchcliff had 34 assists and 12 digs and Thomson 15 digs for the Fords (8-4).

9/16/05 Lebanon Valley Invitational

First Round
Haverford 3, Penn State-Altoona 2 (26-30, 29-31, 30-27, 32-30, 15-10)

ANNVILLE -- Laura Nuyen recorded 22 kills, three aces and two blocks, and Heidi Jutsum added 12 kills and six blocks (two solo) Friday night as Haverford rallied to win from two games down for the second time this season.

Nina Mullenhard had 11 kills, 16 digs and two blocks, and she joined Samantha Thomson (25 digs) and K'Lynn Solt in posting two aces. Emily Hinchcliff provided 49 assists and Dana Mullenhard tied Nuyen with a team-high three aces for the Fords (7-3).

Haverford will complete pool play Saturday with matches against Neumann and Franklin & Marshall. No championship rounds will be held, as the tournament was delayed 2-1/2 hours Friday night by a power outage at Lebanon Valley's Lynch Gymnasium.

9/10/05 Baptist Bible College Tournament

CLARKS SUMMIT -- Dana Mullenhard was the Fords' leader in the opening win versus Neumann with 18 kills, and her sister Nina Mullenhard added 13 kills, 15 digs and four aces in the second round win over host BBC Saturday.

Heidi Jutsum had 14, 12 and 18 kills in the respective matches, saving her high to go with three blocks in the championship loss to Lebanon Valley. Laura Nuyen (11, 12, 11) also had double-figure kills in all three matches and 15 digs against the Flying Dutchwomen. Emily Hinchcliff had a big day as well, with 43 assists, 13 digs and four aces in the opener, 48 assists and six aces in the middle match, and 51 assists and 16 digs in the final. Samantha Thomson had respective dig totals of 26, 21 and 15, while K'Lynn Solt had 10 total blocks in the final two matches for Haverford (6-3).

9/8/05 Haverford 3, Albright 0

HAVERFORD -- K'Lynn Solt, Heidi Jutsum (three blocks) and Nina Mullenhard (two blocks) recorded 11, nine and eight kills, respectively, as host Haverford improved to 4-2 with its non-conference win over Albright (1-4) Wednesday evening.

Emily Hinchcliff recorded 40 assists and five aces, while Samantha Thomson (26 digs) and Dana Mullenhard (four aces) also had big nights for the Fords.

HAVERFORD -- Senior Heidi Jutsum recorded 12 kills and classmate Nina Mullenhard added 10 kills and five aces as host Fords (3-2) used 13 different players in blanking Alfred in Sunday's Haverford Invitational fifth-place match.

Senior libero Samantha Thomson had 22 of her 39 kills on the day in the final and sophomore setter Emily Hinchcliff added 35 assists and six service aces to the winning effort. In the morning, sophs Dana Mullenhard (eight kills), K'Lynn Solt (four blocks) and Hinchcliff (27 assists) were the Fords' statistical leaders against eventual third-place finisher Susquehanna.

All four Pool A teams including tourney champion #15 Concordia of Minnesota (4-0), Susquehanna and Haverford overwhelmed their respective Pool B opponents in the final round Sunday afternoon. Setter Jill Hance of Concordia was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and she was joined on the all-tourney team by by Haverford's Dana Mullenhard and middle hitters Becca Shane (Concordia), Alex Cann (Arcadia), Julia Tarioski (Neumann) and Beth Sanger (Alfred) and outside hitter Erin Keefe (Arcadia).

HAVERFORD -- Haverford sophomores Laura Nuyen (team-high 13 kills), Dana Mullenhard (11 kills, five aces), Emily Hinchcliff (36 assists) and K'Lynn Solt (three blocks) led the way in the Fords' opening sweep of Catholic.

Mullenhard had 11 kills, Hinchcliff 27 assists and an ace, and Samantha Thomson 24 of her 40 digs on the day against tourney favorite Concordia (Minn.), ranked 15th in the preseason Division III coaches' poll.

The Fords (2-1) next face Susquehanna to determine which team will meet Sunday morning's Arcadia-Neumann loser in an afternoon third-place match.

9/1/05 Haverford 3, Richard Stockton 2

HAVERFORD -- Haverford sophomore Laura Nuyen recorded 12 of her team-high 14 kills in the last three games as the Fords (1-0) ralled for a 21-30, 23-30, 30-27, 30-28, 16-14 win over the visiting Ospreys (0-1) Thursday night.

Senior Nina Mullenhard had all nine of her kills in the final three games, while classmate Heidi Jutsum spread her 10 kills over the entire match. Soph Emily Hinchcliff had 47 assists and 19 digs for the hosts, while senior Samantha Thomson (29 digs), soph Dana Mullenhard (3 aces) and frosh Lisa Perkins (3 aces) also had big nights for the Fords.

The Fords host the eight-team Haverford Invitational tournament this Saturday and Sunday at Alumni Field House.
