#16 Haverford Wins Second Consecutive Flying Dutchman Tournament Title;
Hinchcliff & Rebecca Salvo Named All-Tournament


The 16th-ranked Haverford volleyball team took home its second consecutive Flying Dutchman Tournament crown, hosted by Lebanon Valley College, with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-26) win over tournament host Lebanon Valley and its second tournament win over Penn State-Altoona, 3-0 (32-30, 30-27, 30-8), in as many days. Haverford remains undefeated in 2007, pushing its overall record to 14-0 with the victories. Haverford senior setter Emily Hinchcliff and sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Salvo were also named to the All-Tournament team for the second consecutive season. more...

Volleyball Defeats Neumann & PSU-Altoona at Dutchman Tournament;
Fords Start 2007 with Program-Best 12 Straight Wins


The 16th-ranked Haverford volleyball team continued its amazing start to its 2007 campaign with a 3-0 (30-17, 30-26, 30-22) win over Neumann and a 3-1 (30-26, 30-13, 19-30, 30-21) victory over Penn State-Altoona in its first two matches of the 2007 Flying Dutchman Tournament, hosted by Lebanon Valley College. The two wins improve Haverford's record to 12-0, its best start to a season in program history.

#16 Haverford Volleyball Stays Perfect; Downs #22 Stevens & Elizabethtown
Hinchcliff Breaks Program Record for Career Assists at Haverford


Head coach Amy Bergin's volleyball team improved its record to a perfect 10-0 overall after defeating visiting #22 Stevens 3-1 (30-26, 30-23, 20-30, 31-29) and Elizabethtown in a five-game thriller, 3-2 (30-19, 26-30, 30-26, 34-36, 15-11) Wednesday evening at Gooding Arena. Stevens and Elizabethtown fall to 6-1 and 7-1 overall on the season with the losses, respectively. Senior setter Emily Hinchcliff broke the Haverford volleyball program record for assists in a career with her 3,912th career assist in game four against Elizabethtown.

Volleyball Debuts at #16 in CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Week One Poll;
Rachel Salvo Named Co-Centennial Player of the Week


The Haverford volleyball team has gone from unranked last week to being selected 16th nationally with 210 total points in the latest CSTV/AVCA Division III volleyball poll, released Tuesday afternoon. The #16 ranking is the highest in Haverford volleyball program history. Haverford is 8-0 in matches thus far, after winning a program-record 20 consecutive games to open the season. Helping the Fords to their early season success is sophomore middle hitter Rachel Salvo, who was named the Centennial Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Volleyball Ends California Swing Undefeated;
Pushes Overall Record to 8-0 with 3-1 Wins Over
George Fox & Claremont Mudd-Scripps


Head coach Amy Bergin's Haverford volleyball team defeated both George Fox and Claremont Mudd-Scripps 3-1 Saturday afternoon, pushing its overall record to 8-0 on the season. Haverford bested George Fox 30-19, 30-22, 21-30, 30-24. The third-game loss was the first of the season for the Fords after having won a record 20 in a row to start the season. Haverford defeated Claremont Mudd-Scripps 30-17, 22-30, 30-28, 30-18. Haverford concluded its trip to the 2007 Pacific Coast Classic, hosted by Pomona College, with a 4-0 record.

Fords Cruise Past #17 Redlands & Puget Sound at Pacific Coast Classic;
Haverford Improves to 6-0 on the Season


The Haverford College volleyball team defeated the University of Redlands, ranked 17th in the national CSTV/AVCA Division III poll, 3-0 (30-21, 30-27, 30-19), on Friday evening. Earlier in the day, the Fords blanked Puget Sound, 3-0 (33-31, 30-28, 30-27), in the first day of competition of the 2007 Pacific Coast Classic, hosted by Pomona College. The wins improve Haverford's overall record to 6-0. The Fords have not lost a game in any of its six matches this season (18 games).

Volleyball Wins Second Straight Haverford Invitational Championship;
Three Fords Named to All-Tournament Team

The Haverford College volleyball team shut out every opponent on its way to a second-straight Haverford Invitational championship Sunday afternoon. The Fords swept Catholic, 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-23) Sunday morning and followed with a 3-0 (32-30, 30-22, 30-21) sweep over Villa Julie in the championship match. Senior outside hitter Laura Nuyen along with sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Salvo and sophomore middle hitter Rachel Salvo were named to the All-Tournament team as voted on by the coaches.

Fords Topple Neumann & Susquehanna in
Opening Games of Haverford Volleyball Invitational

The Haverford volleyball team hasn't lost a step since appearing in the 2006 NCAA Division III Tournament, cruising past Neumann 3-0 (30-12, 30-25, 31-29) and Susquehanna 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-15) in its first matches of the season in the first day of the 22nd annual Haverford Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday. Sophomore middle hitter Rachel Salvo registered ten kills in each match, while senior setter Emily Hinchcliff inched closer to the Haverford program assists record with 31 and 38 assists in each match, respectively. more...

2007 Volleyball Season Outlook;
Haverford Picked to Finish First in Centennial


Smaller in numbers with expectations higher than ever. That pretty much sums up head coach Amy Bergin's Haverford volleyball team coming into the 2007 season. After winning its first-ever Centennial Conference Championship, Haverford earned a number three-seed and reached the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament in 2006, notching its first postseason victory in program history.
