HAVERFORD, PA - The Haverford College volleyball
team defeated Centennial Conference foe Washington College, 3-0,
(30-16, 30-22, 30-17) Wednesday evening at Gooding Arena. Freshmen
middle hitter Rachel Salvo and twin sister outside hitter Rebecca
Salvo each notched 11 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Fords
in the victory.
The Fords, who were ahead the entire match, were also
led by junior setter Emily Hinchcliff's 34 assists and seven digs.
Rachel Salvo tallied a team-high 15 digs and three blocks, while
Rebecca Salvo added 12 digs and one block. Junior outside hitters
Lauren Nuyen and Dana Mullenhard each had five kills. Junior defensive
specialist Jordan Thompson had seven digs. Junior defensive specialist
Carly Layfield also recorded six digs in the win.
Haverford will compete in the Seven Sisters Tournament
this weekend, hosted by Mt. Holyoke.
