Haverford Edges Past Susquehanna, 3-0
HAVERFORD, PA - Head coach Amy Bergin's volleyball team defeated
Susquehanna, 3-0 (35-33, 30-28, 30-25) in three closely contested
games in the third match of the 2006 Haverford Invitational Volleyball
Tournament early Sunday afternoon. The victory gives the Fords their
fourth-straight 3-0 match victory to start the 2006 season.
Junior outside hitter Laura Nuyen registered a team-high
16 kills, 14 digs, and five service aces while junior teammate K'Lynn
Solt registered six kills and two service aces. Freshmen Rebecca
and Rachel Salvo recorded eight and 11 kills, respectively. The
Fords, who have not lost a game early on in 2006, were down as much
as 13-6 in game one before rallying to overcome Susquehanna.
Haverford, who is now 3-0 in the tournament, will
return to action at 3:00 p.m. against Widener in the championship
match of the Haverford Invitational Tournament.
