Fords Place Third at Seven Sisters;
Rachel Salvo Named All-Tournament
SOUTH HADLEY, MA - Haverford defeated Vassar
3-0 (30-23, 30-17, 30-24) in the third place match at the 2006 Seven
Sisters Volleyball Tournament Sunday afternoon. Freshman middle
hitter Rachel Salvo (La Cañada, Calif./Flintridge Sacred
Heart) led the Fords with a match-high 16 kills. For her efforts
throughout the tournament, Salvo was named to the Seven Sisters
All-Tournament Team.
Haverford, who dominated Vassar in all
three games, was also led by junior setter Emily Hinchcliff's 48
assists and junior outside hitter Dana Mullenhard's .409 hitting
percentage. Freshman outside hitter Rebecca Salvo also contributed
21 digs in the Fords victory.
With the win, Haverford improved its overall record to 17-4. The
Fords will next play at Centennial opponent Johns Hopkins on Saturday
at 1:00 p.m.
