HAVERFORD, PA - Junior setter Emily Hinchcliff
tallied a team-high 38 assists while freshman outside hitter Rebecca
Salvo collected 20 digs, as the Haverford College women's volleyball
team defeated in-state rival Neumann, 3-0 (30-22, 30-19, 30-13),
in its second contest of the 2006 Haverford Volleyball Invitational.
In addition to her 38 assists, Hinchcliff also recorded
ten digs. Rebecca Salvo's twin sistser, Rachel, also notched team-highs
with 14 kills, five service aces and collected 12 digs. Juniors
K'Lynn Solt and Laura Nuyen each recorded seven kills, while junior
co-captain Dana Mullenhard tallied five.
The Fords have started the 2006 season 3-0, and have
won all nine games they have played this season. No team has scored
more than 26 points in a game against the Fords. Haverford has held
opponents to 20 points or less in four of its nine games thus far
in 2006.
Haverford will return to action Sunday at 11 a.m.
in its third game of the Haverford Invitational against Susquehanna.
