Haverford Volleyball Defeats Catholic, 3-0
HAVERFORD, PA - The Haverford College volleyball
team won its second straight match by a score of 3-0, (30-20, 30-23,
30-26) early Saturday afternoon over Catholic in the opening round
of the 2006 Haverford College Volleyball Invitational. Junior outside
hitter Laura Nuyen tallied ten kills and eight digs, while junior
setter Emily Hinchcliff recorded 43 assists in the victory for the
Fords.
Freshman Rebecca Salvo recorded a team-high 12 digs
and also had nine digs for Haverford. The Fords were also led by
junior defensive specialist Carly Layfield, who tallied a team-high
20 digs.
Haverford will return to action at 4:00 p.m. this
afternoon when they face Neumann in its second game of the Haverford
Invitational.
