Favorite class?
Political Science 241: "The European Union Among Other Institutions".
The class focused on two primary issues: the increasing strength of the European Union on the world stage and more importantly, the politics of cooperation. This particular course truly made me reconsider the role that I saw the United States playing on the world stage and also sparked a greater interest in European politics.
How the Haverford experience is unique?
There are two things that stick out when I think of Haverford College: the incredibly supportive faculty, staff and administration and the Honor Code. Each time that I have set out to do something on campus, whether it be writing an essay or starting a project from scratch, every individual on Haverford's campus that I have contacted, from the President on down, has been nothing but overly attentive and supportive to my desires. Secondly, the Honor Code is truly a unique aspect of Haverford. From the self-scheduled take home exams to the expectations that come with the social code, the student-run Honor Code bleeds through each and every aspect of a student's life here on campus.
Favorite extra curricular activity?
Besides basketball, I really enjoy working with youths from all over the area in my program, DiverseCity Hoops. I have run the program for the past two summers at Haverford and the entire experience has been extremely rewarding. I also truly enjoy being a member of the HCAA, which is a group of leaders in the student-athlete community. The group works extremely hard to enhance the lives of student-athletes on campus and it is feels good to know that you are helping your fellow Haverfordians in important ways.
What does it mean to you to be a student-athlete?
Being a student-athlete to me means that regardless of where I find myself (on campus or not), I display my love for Haverford College and everything that it has done for me. As a student-athlete, I have the opportunity to travel around the nation and globe as a representative of everything Haverford College stands for and I do my utmost to make sure that people are able to see what a wonderful place Haverford is through my actions, athletic or otherwise.
