How the Haverford experience is unique?
Even though Haverford is a very small school, it offers so much in proportion to its size. There are countless clubs and activities to get involved in – Haverford is not a homogeneous school. And the range of students here is so broad that you wouldn't know how small the school is.
Thoughts on the Honor Code?
When I talk to friends who go to other schools, they're always amazed at the amount of freedom we have. By formulating and maintaining our own honor code, which treats us as adults who are in charge of our own actions and who are responsible enough to know what is best for us, we become more independent, ready to take on a world without the Haverbubble.
Post-graduate plans:
I plan on going to graduate school in Archaeology, maybe get a job at a museum or archaeological collection. Eventually I'd like to become an archaeologist and alternate fieldwork with teaching. Eventually it would be nice to be a curator. I also plan on fencing for a lot longer.
Favorite Haverford memory?
Finding out I qualified for the NCAA Fencing Championships. Apparently that doesn't happen in small liberal arts schools, but it happened at Haverford.
What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
Don't let the small size daunt you – even though it's small, it has a lot of power. Just look at the alumni, and what they've done for the world. Also, realize that since it's so small, you will have plenty of small classes that will provide valuable learning experiences.
