How the Haverford experience is unique?
The Haverford experience is that of a small community. This is something that people don't get at bigger schools. I enjoy the ability to contact professors at any time and have the confidence that they are invested in helping me improve.
Thoughts on the Honor Code:
The honor code allows the students to be responsible for their actions and hold one another accountable. It also provides a lot of freedom for the students. However, with that comes the trust of the community that we will make good decisions. This helps you recognize that your actions affect other people. The honor code is a unique feature at Haverford that really enhances the overall experience.
What does it mean to you to be a student-athlete?
For me being a student-athlete means that you get to represent your school in a unique way on and off campus. When I step on the court I know that people don't just see me but also that I am from Haverford College and that is something I'm able take pride in.
Favorite place to hang out on campus?
I like to hang out outside on Founders green. (Weather permitting)
What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would say that they should look at the big picture. Don't be overly concerned with things that are flexible. For example some people think that Haverford is too small for them. However, Haverford can be as big or as small as you want. You can get involved with extra-curricular activities that take you off campus or take advantage of the opportunity to take classes at nearby colleges. There are always ways to enhance your personal experience and Haverford is a place where there are many opportunities to make your own path.
