Favorite class?
My favorite class at Haverford so far has been Sports Economics. It was offered for the first time second semester of my sophomore year and I was fortunate to get into the class. As an economics major and an athlete all my life, this class really was a perfect fit for my interests. It combined the standard economic concepts that you may learn in any other economic class but applied them to the more interesting world of sports. The economic analysis of the sports industry, including that of teams, leagues, stadiums and even player contracts and intercollegiate sports was very interesting and it made for a fascinating economic elective course.
How the Haverford experience is unique?
I think what makes the Haverford experience unique is its size. Although larger schools may have many attractions, the size of Haverford and therefore, the fact that you get to know the professors and many of the students extremely well, really sets it apart. Haverford’s size makes for a great learning and growing college experience.
Favorite extra curricular activity?
Lacrosse is definitely my favorite extracurricular activity. Ever since I was five years old I have been playing and it was always my favorite sport growing up. I was fortunate enough to be able to play in college and although it is a very time consuming extracurricular activity, I knew that going in and I love putting in the extra time whether it be for practice, lifting, running, shooting, film, or anything else that goes along with it.
Post-graduate plans:
After graduating from Haverford, I hope to pursue a business/finance career on Wall Street. The summer prior to my junior year I attended an intensive summer business training program at New York University's Stern School of Business called The Stern Advantage Program. I felt that this program would be a great way to compliment my liberal arts education and help me pursue my postgraduate goals.
