Seniors Curt Fentress and Elmar Trust have been
chosen to captain the 2007 Haverford College men's tennis team.
The Fords finished with a 13-4 overall mark in 2006, including
a 7-1 record in Centennial Conference competition. Haverford advanced
to the Centennial semifinals and concluded the 2006 season ranked
seventh in the Atlantic South region.
Fentress finished his 2006 campaign with a 5-1 overall record,
including a 3-0 record outside of tournament play at numbers three
and four. Fentress along with teammates Peter Tong and Jeff Monhait
also combined to go a perfect 4-0 in doubles last season. Entering
his fourth season at Haverford, Fentress has accumulated overall
records of 11-5 in singles and 15-15 in doubles.
Trust will be looking to put together his fourth consecutive season
with over ten individual victories in singles. Trust has put together
36 career singles victories and is fourth all time in program
history in that category. In his first three season, Trust has
recorded singles records of 14-5, 10-9 and 12-9. Last season in
doubles, Trust and teammates Evan Stiegal and Marc Adelberg contributed
eight victories. Trust has 25 career doubles victories as a Ford,
ranking him 10th all-time in that category.
Trust and Fentress will be leading a young and talented Haverford
roster which will look to stop conference power Washington College
from winning its 13th Centennial championship over the past 14
years.
