ALLENTOWN, PA - The Haverford College
men's tennis team defeated host Muhlenberg, 6-3, in the Centennial
Conference opener for both schools Tuesday afternoon. The Fords,
ranked 30th nationally and seventh in the Atlantic South region,
improved to 4-0 overall with the win, while the Mules drop to
1-2.
Sophomore Alex Buxbaum and junior Marc Adelberg won, 8-2, at number
one doubles while sophomore Steve Feder and freshman Mike Gelberg
posted an 8-3 win at number two.
Buxbaum was a 6-2, 6-1, winner at number one singles, while Feder
cruised to a 6-0, 6-0, victory at number two and Adelberg put
up a 6-1, 6-1, win at number three. Gelberg registered the Fords
sixth team point with his 6-4, 6-2, win at number four.
The Fords return to action in their home opener
on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. match against Dickinson.
