#30 Haverford Shuts Down Green Terror, 8-1
WESTMINSTER, MD - The Haverford men's
tennis team, ranked 30th in Division III and seventh in the Atlantic
South region, remains undefeated after shutting down Centennial
Conference host McDaniel, 8-1 Saturday afternoon. The Fords improve
to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Centennial play on the season with the
win, while the Green Terror dip to 0-5 and 0-4.
Haverford senior co-captain Elmar Trust won in his first appearance
at number one singles of the season, 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Kellan
Webb (7-6, 6-2) and junior Marc Adelberg (6-1, 6-0) were winners
at number two and three singles, respectively, while sophomore
Jeff Monhait was a winner at number four. Sophomore Penn Tong
(6-2, 7-5) and senior co-captain Curt Fentress (6-0, 6-1) rounded
out the Fords wins in singles at numbers five and six, respectively.
Trust and Adelberg won at number one doubles, 8-6 while Fentress
and Webb blanked their opponents 8-0 at number two doubles. to
round out the Fords dominating afternoon.
The Fords will host the University of the Sciences on Monday at
3:30 p.m.
