Women's Track and Field named to National All-Academic Team list

The Centennial Conference champion women proved they were brainy as well as fleet of foot by earning recognition on the USTFCCCA all-academic team list.

7/16/08 - The women’s track and field team from Haverford College not only got the job done on the track this past spring—capturing the 2008 Centennial Conference championship—but they were also top performers in the classroom as well.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released their 2008 Scholar Teams list with the Fords earning a top-20 spot. Ninety-three women’s track and field programs were recognized as 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Teams with the conference-champion Haverford women posting the 14th highest cumulative GPA (3.460). Whitworth (Calif.) University was the nation’s leader with a 3.642 GPA.
Six Centennial women’s programs populated the national list led by Ursinus College’s 3.480. The Fords followed 10th-best Ursinus and were joined on the list by Johns Hopkins University, Muhlenberg College, Dickinson College, and Gettysburg College.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Scholar Team a program must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000.
