On Thursday afternoon the Jewish Sports Review released their spring sport All-American teams with three Fords earning first team honors.
In the national publication's May/June 2008 issue, Dana Irshay ('09, Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was tabbed for the Division III softball squad, while teammates Dean Granoff ('08, Wynnewood, Pa.) and Joel Censer ('08, Fairfax, Va.) were first team selections on the D-III men's lacrosse team.
Irshay, an outfielder for the Centennial Conference runner-up Fords, hit .314 (43-for-137) with 15 RBIs and nine doubles while playing flawlessly in the field, achieving a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage racking up 47 putouts and one assist. Her stellar junior campaign netted her a Second Team All-Centennial Conference postseason honor.
Censer, a 2008 First Team all-conference honoree, was fourth on the team in ground balls with 39 for the season in 16 games for the nationally-ranked Fords. The defender started every game for a Haverford team that played in their first NCAA postseason tournament this past spring.
A Second Team All-Centennial selectee, Granoff was fourth on the team in goals (21), assists (11), and points (32) from his midfield position and scooped up 2525 ground balls.
Both Censer and Granoff earned USILA Honorable Mention All-American honors earlier this summer.
