Thompson Hired by New York Mets

Former Haverford catcher Jim Thompson ’04 has been hired by the New York Mets as a minor league scout.
He joins Josh Byrnes ’92 (General Manager, Arizona Diamondbacks), Thad Levine ’94 (Assistant General Manager, Texas Rangers), Ryan Isaac ’98 (Assistant to the General Manager, San Diego Padres), Jeff Graupe ’06 (Baseball Operations Assistant, Cincinnati Reds) and Daniel Render ’06 (Account Executive, Chicago White Sox) as former Haverford baseball players currently working in Major League Baseball.
Thompson had been a baseball operations intern and bullpen catcher with the Mets prior to attending Major League Baseball’s “Scout School” this past fall in Arizona.
Thompson, who also had managed in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, will be responsible for scouting all minor league players in the Mid-Atlantic region.
