Haverford women stick together at Main Line Invite

Emily Lipman (bib number 516) finished as the top finisher for the Fords in the Main Line Invite hosted by Haverford.
09/24/09 – The Fords hosted the Main Line Invite on Thursday afternoon and used a pack-mentality to finish with a strong showing on their home course.
HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford women’s cross country team hosted the Main Line Invitational on Thursday afternoon with sophomore Emily Lipman leading the Fords across the finish against teams from Villanova, The College of New Jersey, Gwynedd-Mercy, Swarthmore and Bryn Mawr.
Lipman, a 2008 NCAA championship meet participant, finished seventh overall in a time of 18 minutes, 8.07 seconds, trailing only five runners from Villanova and the sixth place finisher from New Jersey.
The next six Haverford runners finished within 19 seconds of each other and between 18th and 26th place out of 85 racers on the Alumni Course. Alice Vienneau led the pack of Fords followed closely by Elizabeth Zoidis, Harper Hubbeling and Caitlyn Tully who were all within five seconds of each other. Kaitlyn Shank and Aileen Keogh rounded out the Scarlet and Black pack.
The 3-mile race title was captured by Villanova’s Kaitlyn Tallman who finished in a time of 16:15.52.
The Haverford women will next take to the trails on October 2 at the Brooks-Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
