Sixty-seven spring student-athletes named to Centennial Academic Honor Roll

05/13/09 - Women’s lacrosse, men’s tennis and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field had the most honorees in their respective sports.
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference announced that 325 student-athletes were named to the Spring Academic Honor Roll on Tuesday. Sixty-seven of those who made the honor roll hail from Haverford College. Women’s lacrosse, men’s tennis and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field had the most honorees in their respective sports.
Louis DeRosa, Jake Kaden, Chris Dooley, Stefan Pappius-Lefebvre and Dan Hochberg represented the baseball team. Pappius-Lefebvre was also an honorable mention all-conference selection.
The men’s lacrosse team was represented by Matt Dooley, David Lawrence, Jason Leeds, Matt Starke and Jamey van Opstal.
Seven members of the women’s lacrosse team got the nod. Lauren Finkel, Emily Horn, Molly Jordan, Liz Koelmel, Caroline Malapero, Liz Mayell and Nora Proops were all honored. Koelmel was named honorable mention all-conference.
Alison Crawford, Beth Davis, Dana Irshay, Candice Smith and Marina Zambrotta all received the recognition for softball. Irshay was a first-team all-conference honoree while Smith made honorable mention.
Six men’s tennis players made the honor roll. Alex Buxbaum, Stephen Feder, Thomas Kinrade, Marc Rudolph, Evan Stiegel and Hailiu Yang represented the Fords. Buxbaum and Kinrade were all-conference honorees in both singles and doubles.
Katie Drooyan and Katie Wettick were named from the women’s tennis squad. Wettick garnered all-conference accolades in singles.
Twenty members of the men’s outdoor track & field team made it. Paul Bisceglio, Mark Burgmann, Taylor Burmeister, Joseph Carpenter, Eric Chesterton, Patrick Donnelly, Phil Eiseman, Michael Hildner, Anders Hulleberg, Morgan Kist, Andrew Lanham, Richard Marsico, Zachary Needell, Dan O’Toole, Jason Oaks, Nick Reynolds, Chris Southwick, Elias Tousley, Benjamin Walker and Andrew Wei all represented the Fords. O’Toole was named Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Centennial Conference Championship.
The women’s outdoor track & field team had 19 named to the honor roll. Claire Adams, Jessie Belden, Heidi Bretscher, Maya Cabot, Kaia Davis, Lena Edelstein, Jackie Freund, Caila Heyison, Harper Hubbeling, Aileen Keogh, Darian Lunne, Mara Miller, Hilary Mislan, Kathryn Montalbano, Margaret Morrison, Eliza Reiss, Elizabeth Scholom, Elizabeth Welch and Natalie Zych made the list. Belden was the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the Centennial Championship.
