Bollinger Receives Forman Award

HAVERFORD -- Robert C. Bollinger '79, MD, MPH, was on hand at Saturday's Haverford College men's lacrosse alumni game and received the Lawrence Forman '60 Award in a ceremony following the contest.
The Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical Global Health Education, Bollinger was a four year letter-winner and standout midfielder for the Fords lacrosse team as an undergrad.
Dr. Bollinger is know world wide for his actions in international public health, clinical research, and education in a broad range of global health priorities including HIV/AIDS, malaria, turberculosis, leprosy, and emerging infections.
A graduate of Haverford with degrees in chemistry and philosophy, Bollinger earned his MD from Dartmouth in 1984 and his MPH from Johns Hopkins in 1988.
Lawrence Forman was one of the most versatile and graceful athletes in Haverford's athletic history. He was the second Ford to surpass the 1,000 career points plateau in basketball and earned All-American honors as a goalie in his final two years at the College under legendary soccer coach Jimmy Mills.
The Forman Award is designed to recognize someone whose athletic career in college and subsequent devotion to serving society was reminiscent of Larry.
