HAVERFORD, PA - The Haverford College women's
soccer team tied visiting Ursinus Wednesday afternoon, 0-0, in
Centennial Conference women's soccer action. Sophomore goalkeeper
Lindsay Festa made four saves en route to earning her seventh
shut out of the season.
The Fords and Bears each had their chances to score throughout
the game, but no team could find the back of the net. Freshmen
forwards Molly Graepel and Erin Dowling led the Fords with two
shots a piece, while four different Fords recorded one shot on
goal. Ursinus held a 21-7 edge on shots and a 11-2 advantage in
corner kicks in the game.
Haverford needed a victory this afternoon to stay in contention
for the fifth and final Centennial playoff spot. Ursinus is currently
in fifth place with 16 points, while the Fords have 13. Even with
a Fords win in the final game of the season on Saturday, and an
Ursinus loss, the Bears, and Dickinson (15 points) hold tie-breakers
over Haverford.
Haverford will close out the regular season at Centennial foe
Swarthmore on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
