HOBOKEN, NJ - Haverford College (1-2-1) dropped
its second game in as many days after being defeated by Stevens
(1-1-2), 2-0, Sunday afternoon. Lindsay Festa made seven saves
in net for the Fords in the loss.
The Ducks jumped on top of the Fords less
than 15 minutes into the game as senior forward Heather Dean headed
the ball past Festa, off a pass into the box from a free kick
off the foot of Stevens forward Sara Roeder. Roeder put the game
out of Haverford's reach, as she hit a shot off the left post,
and then went for her own rebound, beating several Haverford defenders
to the loose ball in the box before scoring into an empty net.
Haverford was out shot 11-2 in the second
half, and 17-6 for the game. Erica Midttveit was credited with
the win for Stevens, making three saves in the contest.
The Fords will return to action next Saturday
at 2:00 p.m. when they will play their Centennial Conference opener
against Johns Hopkins at Walton Field.
