HOBOKEN, NJ - Smith College edged Haverford
College in, 1-0, in women’s soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The Fords drop to 1-1-1 with the loss, while Smith improves to
1-0.
Smith scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute when
Dalyn Houser tipped in a cross pass from teammate Rebecca Blume.
Haverford out shot Smith, 5-4, and had a 2-1 advantage in corner
kicks.
Lindsay Festa made one save in net for Haverford, while Lauren
Bachtel made three saves for Smith to earn the shutout victory.
Hana Rosen collected two shots for the Fords, while Ryan Hedrick,
Sarah Morris and Allison O’Donnel added one shot a piece.
Haverford will return to action Sunday when they will play at
Stevens Tech at 2:30 p.m.
