CARLISLE, PA - Haverford freshman midfielder
Therese Verkerke's goal in the 25th minute put the Fords up 1-0,
but Host Dickinson rallied and scored twice in the second half
to best Haverford, 2-1, in Centennial Conference women's soccer
action Saturday afternoon.
Verkerke's second goal of the season opened the scoring in the
game. The Fords took the 1-0 advantage into the second half of
play. Dickinson's Abby Snyder struck just three minutes into the
second half to tie the game at one a piece. Dickinson's Lisa Nichols
then scored the game-winning goal, her 14th of the season, with
seven minutes left in regulation, leading the Red Devils to the
2-1 victory.
Haverford sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Festa
made three saves in the loss for the Fords.
Haverford slips to 5-7-1 overall and 4-3 in Centennial play with
the loss, while Dickinson improves to 8-5 and 5-1.
The Fords will travel to non-conference opponent Elizabethtown
on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
