Haverford Shuts Out Bryn Mawr, 1-0
HAVERFORD, PA - Haverford sophomore midfielder
Allison O'Donnell scored the game-winning goal with 2:18 remaining
in regulation, as Haverford College defeated Centennial Conference
opponent Bryn Mawr, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon at Walton Field. With
the win, Haverford improved to 3-4-1 overall and 2-1 in Centennial
play, while Bryn Mawr fell to 5-2-1 and 0-2.
O'Donnell's goal was setup by Rosen who had
a clear look at the net from the left side of the box. Her shot
towards the net sailed over the Owls goalkeeper, and found O'Donnell
waiting next to the far side post. O'Donnell helped the ball into
the net, leading to the Fords 1-0 win.
The Fords kept the ball on Bryn Mawr's side
of the field for the majority of the contest. Haverford held a
32-3 advantage in shots and an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks in
the game.
Haverford sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Festa made three saves
in net to earn her second consecutive shut out. Festa, who was
named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on
Monday, now has four shut outs on the season, lowering her goals
against average to 0.85. Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Collette Pullion
made 12 saves in the losing effort.
Haverford returns to action on Friday with
a 4:00 p.m. game at Centennial opponent Muhlenberg.
