HAVERFORD -- Freshman Stu Leon knocked
home the game-winning goal on an assist from Brandon Washington
with 3:48 left in the second 10-minute overtime period as visiting
Swarthmore (12-4-1, 6-2-1) averted an upset in the nation's oldest
Division III soccer rivalry.
Haverford (5-11-1, 1-8) freshman Eric
Kissinger threaded a blast from 30 yards out midway through the
first half to give the Fords a 1-0 halftime lead, but Garnet frosh
Yoi Tibbetts provided an equalizer on a run to goal and blast
with 2:51 remaining in regulation time.
The Fords lead the all-time series,
43-32-8, since the first meeting of the Haverford and Swarthmore
varsities in 1921.

HAVERFORD -- Johnathan Kliewer had
a goal and an assist in the first-half, to lead the Mules (10-5,
5-3) to a 3-0 halftime lead. His goal was assisted by Adam Milberg.
Karim Assous and Christopher King, scored first-half goals on
assists from Blake Grannell and Kliewer. James Henshaw scored
the lone second-half goal on an assist from Jose Ramirez to make
it 4-0.
Goalkeepers Alec Aramanda (nine saves)
and Adam Care (three saves) split time for the Fords (5-10-1,
1-7).

CARLISLE -- The Fords' Charlie Rubin
scored on a Panos Panidis assist in the 89th minute, but the host
Red Devils pulled away from a 1-0 halftime lead in Saturday's
Centennial Conference game.
Haverford (5-9-1, 1-6) goalkeeper Adam
Care made nine saves, while two Dickinson (11-4, 4-3) keepers
made three saves while facing nine shots.
10/19/05 Johns Hopkins 2, Haverford

BALTIMORE -- Senior David Poolman scored
off an assist by classmate Greg Reed after a corner kick to give
the Fords the lead 1:33 into the match, but Johns Hopkins (8-2-4,
2-1-3) clawed back into the game with a 23-2 advantage on shots
and an 11-2 lead on corner kicks.
Haverford (5-8-1, 1-5) starting goalkeeper
Alec Aramanda was assessed a red card at 17:22, and Hopkins capitalized
on its direct kick opportunity as Adam Simon fed Edmond Wybaillie
for the game-tying goal at 17:49. The Fords played man-down the
rest of the game, but the Blue Jays could not get another goal
until Steve Read's game-winner in the 60th minute on Simon's second
assist.
Hopkins keeper Dan Coble needed to
make just one save to pick up his sixth win of the year, while
Haverford's Adam Care finished with six saves and two goals against.
Aramanda made five saves in the first 17 minutes.

HAVERFORD -- Thomas Kane scored twice
in between goals by Will Talesnick and Brian Samartino, respectively,
as McDaniel's four goals in a span of 3:35 midway through first
half were the difference in the Centennial Conference game at
Haverford.
Alec Aramanda (four saves) and Adam
Care (one save) each played a half in net for the Fords (5-7-1,
1-3), while Andrew Wu made nine saves in goal for the Green Terror
(8-3-1, 3-1-1).

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Josh Bridges
and Justin Tinder scored first-half goals on assists by Ben Norman
and Robert Fricke, respectively, the lead host Greensboro (6-4-2)
to a non-conference victory over Fall Break visitor Haverford
Tuesday.
Keepers Alec Aramanda (three
saves) and Adam Care (five saves) played one half each in goal
for the Fords (5-6-1).

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jorge Montesinos
scored a first-half Damien Serafin assist and a second-half direct
kick for Kean (4-7-1) Sunday afternoon.
Xander Subashi had tied the score for
the Fords (5-5-1) shortly before halftime on an assist by Ben
Shechtman. Alec Aramanda (four saves) and Adam Care each played
one half in goal for Haverford.

GWYNEDD VALLEY -- The Fords outshot
their hosts, 11-5, but Brian Bowler and Cristiano Winchester converted
the Griffins' only two shots on goal in the game for a non-conference
win Wednesday.
Sean Carey crossed the ball on Bowler's
header 5:51 after intermission, and Ryan Merritt and Brian O'Donnell
got free kick assists on Winchester's score with 10:49 left for
the Griffins (6-4-2).
Eight different Haverford players took
shots at Gwynedd-Mercy keepers Joe Schneider (four saves) and
Dan Ballard (two saves), who played one half apiece.

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- The Fords held
a 5-3 advantage in shots during a scoreless first half, but the
Shoremen got on the board first at 72:18 when Jaron Putmon scored
off a direct kick by Brian Danver. Josh Todd gave Washington (3-6,
2-2) a two-goal cushion when he knocked in a rebound off a shot
by Dave Hieber at the 76:05 mark.
Alec Aramanda made two saves in the
first half for Haverford (5-3-1, 1-3). Adam Care played in goal
for the Fords after intermission, allowing both goals and making
three saves. Junior goalkeeper Sean Ferri made six saves in the
shutout for Washington.
9/28/05 Haverford 2, Ursinus 1 (OT)
COLLEGEVILLE -- Jacob Lipson caromed
the decisive goal off the crossbar and an Ursinus defender 4:37
into overtime to net Haverford its first Centennial Conference
victory of the season Wednesday.
Donald Reilly put the Bears (2-6, 0-3)
on the board first five minutes into the second half, but Ben
Bowens answered for the Fords (5-2-1, 1-2) on a Brian Doherty
assist five minutes later.
Alec Aramanda made two saves to get
the victory in goal for the Fords, who outshot their hosts, 13-7.

HAVERFORD -- Brian Doherty's midair
volley of a Ben Bowens free kick in the 21st minute gave Haverford
(4-2-1, 0-2) an early lead, but two late F&M goals doomed
the host Fords.
Haverford freshman goalkeeper Adam
Care kept the Diplomats (2-2-3, 1-1) out of the net for the first
83 minutes of the match, making 13 saves in search of his second
straight shutout. Ryan McGonigle buried a penalty shot following
a hand ball in the box to tie the score with 6:30 to play, then
Ben Wilson scored on a cross from Brandon Corday with 4:52 left
for a 2-1 Centennial Conference win.
Goalkeeper Ed Stelz needed to make
only one first half save for the visiting Diplomats, who outshot
the Fords 23-7.

READING -- Charlie Rubin scored the
golden goal 5:10 into extra time to propel Haverford to a 4-1-1
on the season with its non-conference win Wednesday at Alvernia.
Freshman keeper Adam Care was splendid
in his collegiate debut in goal, making four saves for his first
career shutout and victory.

HAVERFORD -- Mike Tirney, Garrett Bruno
and Chris Bayon scored goals for the visiting Bullets (3-2-1,
1-0) in their Centennial Conference opening win at Haverford Saturday.
Alec Aramanda made five saves and Adam
Care two in goal for the Fords (3-1-1, 0-1). Nick Wells-Bundtzen
made six saves in goal for Gettysburg.

HAVERFORD -- Freshman Josh Price tied
the score at 1-all on a feed from classmate Panos Panidis with
2:36 remaining in regulation time, then Haverford earned the Jimmy
Mills Tournament title after two scoreless overtime periods, 4-2
on penalty kicks.
David Poolman, Eric Kissinger, Charlie
Rubin and Josef Bartels scored the penalty kicks for the Fords
(3-0-1), who receive credit for a tie under NCAA rules in addition
to their tournament title.
The Gophers (3-0-1) opened the scoring
9:16 into the second half on a blast by Eddie Emokpai. Haverford
goalkeeper Alec Aramanda was credited with eight saves, including
a key stop of Geoffrey Cornelius in the shootout, while Goucher's
Tom Feuerstein recorded six saves.

HAVERFORD -- Ben Shechtman scored in
the 15th minute, then assisted the Fords' final goal by Panos
Panidis, as tournament host Haverford improved to 3-0 with its
win over winless Del Val (0-3).
Josh Price scored on a Charlie Rubin
assist 27 seconds after intermission, and Ben Bowens added a score
2:20 later to break the game wide-open. Goalkeepers Alec Aramanda
(two saves) and Adam Care (one save) divided time in goal while
recording the Fords' third straight shutout to start the season.
The Fords will host the winner of Cabrini
and Goucher Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the final of the tournament,
which is named for U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer and 1956 U.S. Olympic
coach Jimmy Mills, who led the Fords from 1949-70.

HAVERFORD -- Sophomore Taylor Sundby
and freshmen Josh Price and Panos Panidis scored one goal apiece
as Haverford won its second straight shutout at home.
Freshman Eric Kissinger assisted the
first and last goals by Sundby and Panidis, respectively, and
Alec Aramanda and Jim Wiltsee divided time in net for the Fords
(2-0).
Freshman goalkeeper Dave O'Neill made
17 saves for the Mighty Macs (0-2) while facing 41 Haverford shots.

keeper Adam Care each recorded two saves in net for the Fords
(1-0), who next host the brand-new men's varsity of Immaculata
College this Wednesday at 4 p.m.
