Fleishhacker Scores Five Goals in Win
ST. DAVID'S, PA - Visiting Haverford (2-2 overall) scored 15 first
half goals en route to an 18-0 victory over host Eastern (0-3)
in non-conference men's lacrosse action Monday afternoon. Today's
shut out victory is the first for Haverford since May 2, 2003
when the Fords blanked Neumann, 19-0.
Haverford freshman attack Brian Fleishhacker scored the first
goal of the game, and his first of a game-high five on the day,
off a pass by senior defender Steve Selsor 40 seconds into the
contest. Haverford kept the pressure on, scoring eight more times
to take a 9-0 lead after one quarter of play. Haverford extended
its lead to 15-0 at the halftime break. The Fords defense along
with netminders John-Paul Cashiola and Jake Medlinger held the
Eagles without a goal throughout the game as Haverford cruised
to the 18-0 win.
Senior attack Max Tcheyan netted four goals and added three assists,
while junior attack Mike Distler added a tally and three assists
for the Fords. Junior midfielder Dean Granoff scored three times
while midfielders Andrew Kim, Adam Goldstein, Andrew Devlin, Matt
Thorne-Fitzgerald and attack Jeremy Golan each added a goal apiece.
The Fords won 15-of-22 faceoffs, with sophomore Peter Hannapel
winning 10-of-14 faceoff attempts. Freshman goalie John-Paul Cashiola
recorded the win, making three saves in the first half. Junior
goalie Jake Medlinger took over in net in the second half and
made six stops to preserve the shutout.
Haverford converted on three-of-six man up opportunities and held
Eastern to no extra man goals in six attempts. The Fords were
successful on 19-of-26 clears in the game while the Eagles cleared
the ball successfully on only eight-of-19 tries.
Haverford will return to action Saturday with its Centennial Conference
