Muhlenberg Defeats Haverford, 6-0
ALLENTOWN, PA - Host Muhlenberg College defeated
visiting Haverford College, 6-0, Tuesday night in Centennial Conference
field hockey action. With the win, the Mules improved to 6-3 overall
and 1-1 in the Centennial play, while the Fords fell to 3-5 and
0-3.
Muhlenberg scored four goals in the first 20:53 of play, and out
shot Haverford 8-2 in the opening half. Mules netminders Lauren
Schram and Michelle Consiglio each played a half and made two
save a piece to earn the combined shut out.
The Mules out shot the Fords by a margin of 20-5 in the game,
and also had a 10-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Haverford freshman goalie Grace Bundens made three saves, while
Abby Scattergood led the team with two shots, both on goal.
The Fords will return to action on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial
Conference game at Gettysburg.
