Graves Earns First Career Shutout in 2-0 Win Over Immaculata

IMMACULATA, PA - Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Graves notched her first career shutout in the cage, leading visiting Haverford College past host Immaculata, 2-0, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action. Haverford improves its overall record to 5-6, while Immaculata slipped to 4-10.

The Fords offense was paced by junior attack Colleen Farrell, who opened the scoring 5:01 into the game with an unassisted goal. Senior attack Abby Scattergood added an unassisted goal of her own with 8:08 remaining in the first half. The Haverford defense, along with Graves seven saves in the cage, helped keep Immaculata off the score sheet, securing the Fords 2-0 victory.

Farrell leads the Fords with five goals and 11 points on the season, while Scattergood is in a close second with four goals and ten points. Graves now has a 2-1 record in the cage since making her first start against 18th ranked Gettysburg on September 30th.

The Fords have defeated the Mighty Macs in each of their past four meeting dating back to 2003. In that stretch, Haverford has outscored Immaculata by a 11-1 margin.

The Fords return to action on the road this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Centennial Conference opponent Johns Hopkins.
