#18 Gettysburg Stops Haverford, 5-1
GETTYSBURG, PA - 19th ranked Gettysburg College
scored three goals in the second half en route to a 5-1 victory
over visiting Haverford College Saturday afternoon. The Bullets
improved to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in Centennial action, while the
Fords dropped to 3-6 and 0-4.
Gettysburg's Lauren Woodham and Cristi Ferrell scored the first
two goals of the game at 22:23 and 27:31. Haverford senior attack
Abby Scattergood pulled the Fords to within one goal before the
half, as she rocketed a shot from the right side of the cage past
the Bullets goalie. However, Gettysburg stopped the Fords rally
with three more goals in the second period.
Sophomore Sarah Graves made her first collegiate start in the
cage for Haverford, making nine saves. Katherine Corkhill made
seven saves in the cage for Gettysburg in the win.
Haverford will host Centennial opponent Washington
College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
