Fords Win 14th Straight Centennial Conference Championship
CARLISLE, PA - Haverford College got a 1-2-3-5
finish from senior Zach Vaslow, junior Don Letts, freshman Andrew
Lanham and sophomore Taylor Burmeister, as the Fords claimed their
14th Centennial title in as many years since the conference's inception.
Vaslow, who was declared the winner while earning his third straight
All-Centennial first-team honor, crossed the 8-kilometer finish
line with Letts (25:58). Their joint arrival was reminiscent of
an identical 1-2 finish by future Division III national champions
Matt Leighninger and Seamus McElligott at the Middle Atlantic meet
in 1989, the same
year the Fords'current run of 18 consecutive conference harrier
crowns began.
The third-place effort by Lanham (26:36) tied Karl Paranya (1994)
for the highest conference finish by a Fords frosh since Mike Sheely
won the MAC race in 1978. Jamie Jablin (26:54), Nathaniel Grabman
(27:07) and Mark Burgmann (27:09) earned second team All-Centennial
honors with their finishes in places 9-13-14, respectively.
