2/18/06 Swarthmore 68, Haverford 58

HAVERFORD -- First-year Haverford forward Brittany Lattisaw recorded team-highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds, and junior Abby Scattergood and senior Claire Scribner added 12 and 10 points, respectively, but host Swarthmore pulled away from a 50-48 lead in the final 5:30 of Saturday's Centennial Conference game.

Sophomore Karen Berk was the only Garnet (11-14, 7-11) player to score in double-figures with 33 points and 10 rebounds, including 13-of-17 shooting at the free throw line.

Senior Katie Crowley, who finished her career as Haverford's all-time leading scorer with 1,291 points, added nine points and six rebounds.

The Fords (6-19, 4-14) had trailed by as many as 11 points in each half before tying the game at 36-all on a Lattisaw layup with 12:37 left.

2/14/06 Haverford 65, Bryn Mawr 55

HAVERFORD -- Sophomore center Erica Juliano scored 19 points off the bench, and senior forward Katie Crowley added 17 points in her final appearance at Gooding Arena, as host Haverford held off upset-minded Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference action.

First-year forward Brittany Lattisaw added 14 points and tied senior forward Claire Scribner for the team-high with nine rebounds for the Fords (6-18, 4-13), who never led by more than the final 10-point margin. Crowley and Lattisaw each had four of Haverford's 15 steals in the game.

Soph guard Katie Driscoll scored 16 points and junior forward Amy Johnson had her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes for the Owls (3-22, 0-18). Johnson's layup with 9:11 left in the first half gave Bryn Mawr a 21-19 lead and made her the first Owl player to reach 1,000 career points during her junior season.

After trailing much of the first half, the Fords used a 10-1 run to lead, 36-31, at intermission. The Owls erased a 44-34 deficit to tie the score at 50-50 and 52-52, but Haverford pulled away, 13-3, over the final 6:52 of the game.

2/7/06 Haverford 76, Washington (Md.) 57

HAVERFORD -- First-year forward Brittany Lattisaw pulled down 11 rebounds and recorded career-highs of 20 points and seven blocked shots as host Haverford scorched Centennial Conference visitor Washington (Md.) Tuesday evening.

Senior Katie Crowley matched Lattisaw's point total with 20 and guards Kathleen Abels (nine rebounds) and Abby Scattergood (four steals) added nine points each for the Fords (5-18, 3-13), who raced out to a 43-25 halftime lead and cruised to a 76-57 victory.

Brianne Slizofski had team-highs of 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals off the bench to lead the Shorewomen (5-17, 2-13).

2/4/05 Johns Hopkins 75, Haverford 50

HAVERFORD -- Katie Crowley and Bea Chang scored 14 points each, and Abby Scattergood added 10 points, but the Fords (4-18, 2-13) could not duplicate their strong first-half performance over the final 20 minutes agains their Centennial Conference rival.

Crowley scored at the intermission buzzer to cut the Blue Jays' lead to 33-31, but Katie Kimball scored 11 of her game-high 16 points after halftime to lead a 42-19 second-half assault for Hopkins (16-4, 13-1).

Frosh Brittany Lattisaw had eight points and five of her team's 13 steals, while her classmate Natalie Richman grabbed six rebounds for the Fords, who were outrebounded by their first-place hosts, 61-27.

1/31/06 Muhlenberg 50, Haverford 46

ALLENTOWN -- Katie Crowley scored 15 points and Abby Scattergood added 10 points for upset-minded Haverford, which led at halftime, 27-26, then by as many as 10 points in the second half.

Crowley tied Claire Scribner's team-high with eight rebounds, while Scattergood dished out three assists and joined Brittany Lattisaw in recording three steals for the Fords (4-17, 2-12).

The Mules (17-2, 12-2), who got 16 points from Kristen Piscadlo and 12 points and five assists from Lauren Boyle, outscored the Fords, 17-3, over the last eight minutes. With the win, Muhlenberg remains undefeated at home, 11-0, and in second-place in the Centennial Conference.

1/28/06 McDaniel 90, Haverford 61

HAVERFORD -- Theresa Hess and Katy Powell scored 14 points each as visiting McDaniel (15-4, 9-3) pulled away from a 35-32 halftime lead in its Centennial Conference game at Haverford Saturday afternoon.

Abby Scattergood led the Fords (4-16, 2-11) with 14 points, followed by 10 points apiece from Bea Chang and Liz Theibert.

1/26/06 Haverford 66, Bryn Mawr 49

BRYN MAWR -- Junior Abby Scattergood recorded game-highs of 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and five steals, and sopohomore Erica Juliano added 18 points, including 14 in the second half, as Haverford downed Centennial Conference host Bryn Mawr Thursday evening.

Senior Katie Crowley had eight points for the Fords (4-15, 2-10), who trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half and by 31-26 at halftime. A 23-6 run to open the second half allowed Haverford head coach Jim Osborne to rotate all 17 Fords players into his lineup.

Frosh Katie Kent (13 points) and junior Amy Johnson (11 points, eight rebounds) led the Owls (2-16, 0-12), who have lost 11 straight since topping the Fords, 59-56, in the Seven Sisters tournament on Dec. 4.

1/24/06 Ursinus 50, Haverford 37

HAVERFORD -- Sarah Hennessey scored 13 points and Molly Guntli grabbed 14 rebounds for visiting Ursinus (9-8, 6-5), which pulled away from a 23-17 halftime lead in its Centennial Conference game at Haverford Tuesday evening.

Claire Scribner scored 11 points and Kathleen Abels added 10 for the Fords (3-15, 1-10), who also got 11 rebounds from Katie Crowley.

1/21/06 Haverford 70, Franklin & Marshall 49

LANCASTER -- Abby Scattergood recorded team-highs of 15 points, 11 rebounds and four steals, and Katie Crowley added 13 points and a game-high five assists, as Haverford snapped a 15-game Centennial Conference losing streak with its first-ever win at F&M.

The only previous win by the Fords over the Diplomats was a 49-46 win at Haverford on Nov. 25, 1998. Haverford jumped out to a 38-23 halftime lead and outrebounded its host, 57-43.

Bea Chang added 10 points for Haverford (3-14, 1-9), which had dropped 16 straight Centennial away games entering the contest. The Fords' last road win over a Centennial opponent other than Bryn Mawr had been a 65-56 win at Ursinus on Dec. 7, 1999.

The Fords shot well -- 30-of-66 for the game (45.5%) -- while the frustrated Diplomats (4-10, 2-6) hit only 16-of-74 field goals attempts (21.6%) and 4-of-24 three-point tries (16.7%).

1/18/06 Swarthmore 72, Haverford 57

HAVERFORD -- Karen Berk scored 26 points and Laura Popovics added 19 off the bench as Swarthmore converted its 36-24 halftime lead into a Centennial Conference win at Haverford Wednesday evening.

Cara Tigue grabbed 14 rebounds for the Garnet (7-7, 4-5), who shot 50% in the first half (14-of-28).

Haverford (2-14, 0-9) was led by first-year forward Brittany Lattisaw, who posted team-highs of 13 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots.

1/14/06 Gettysburg 74, Haverford 60

HAVERFORD -- Kathryn Reilly scored 22 points and Jennifer Bengel added 17 points and 11 rebounds as Centennial Conference visitor Gettysburg sustained its 41-32 halftime lead at Haverford Saturday.

Jamie Marshall added 12 points for the Bullets (10-6, 7-2).

For the Fords (2-13, 0-8), first-year guard Kathleen Abels recorded career-highs of 19 points, eight rebounds and four three-pointers made.

1/10/06 Johns Hopkins 71, Haverford 51

HAVERFORD -- Abby Scattergood scored 15 points before fouling out and helped host Haverford build a 31-25 halftime lead against first-place Hopkins, but the Blue Jays (9-3, 6-0) pulled away from a close 53-48 game with an 18-3 run over the final five minutes of the game.

Haley Wojdowski scored 15 points and Amanda Leese (13 rebounds) and Julie Miller added 13 points apiece for the visitors, who made 26-of-41 free throws, including 20-of-29 in the second half.

Brittany Lattisaw and Katie Crowley scored double-figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Fords (2-12, 0-7). Haverford's aggressive defense helped force 26 Hopkins turnovers, but also resulted in 30 personal fouls and three player disqualifications.

1/7/06 Muhlenberg 82, Haverford 46

HAVERFORD -- Muhlenberg College (9-1, 4-1) continued its strong Centennial Conference women's basketball play by routing Haverford College (2-11, 0-6), 82-46, Saturday in Gooding Arena.

Stephanie Coluccini's 15 points led 14 Mules who scored. Lacey Smith had eight rebounds as the Mules outrebounded the Fords, 50-30.

Soph point guard Bea Chang led Haverford with 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting while frosh Brittany Lattisaw came off the bench to score 10 points in 15 minutes. Senior Katie Crowley was Haverford's leading rebounder with nine.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Sophomore guard Bea Chang earned all-tournament honors and tied senior forwards Katie Crowley and Claire Scribner for the team-high with eight points Wednesday, but the Fords (2-10) were overpowered by Cardinals (8-3).

Haverford had advanced to the Shootout final at Florida Memorial University with a 61-53 win Tuesday over NAIA member Edward Waters, getting 14 and 11 points off the bench, respectively, from junior Abby Scattergood and soph Kendra Smythe.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Junior Abby Scattergood scored 14 points and sophomore Kendra Smythe added 11 points as Haverford defeated NAIA Edward Waters, 61-53, in the first round of the Sunshine Shootout in Florida.

Haverford shot 45.2% in the first half and raced to a 32-21 halftime lead.

Frosh Kathleen Abels led the Fords (2-9) with seven rebounds, and sophomore point guard Bea Chang recorded five assists. All-time scoring leader Katie Crowley chipped in with 10 points to run her career total to 1,144.

12/10/05 Gettysburg 78, Haverford 57

GETTYSBURG -- Claire Scribner recorded team-highs of 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Haverford in its final game before fall semester exams and the New Year.

Katie Crowley, Bea Chang and Brittany Lattisaw each added seven points for the Fords (1-9, 0-5).

Jennifer Bengel scored 33 points for the Bullets (4-4, 3-2), including a 11-for-16 shooting from the field and a 10-for-10 effort at the line.

12/8/05 Ursinus 68, Haverford 49

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Abby Scattergood scored 11 points and Katie Crowley added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds for Haverford (1-8, 0-4) in Thursday night's Centennial Conference game.

Bea Chang added eight points for the Fords (1-8, 0-4), who used 16 different players while playing their seventh game in the last nine days.

Mary Kate Daley scored 16 points and Sarah Hennessey (six assists) and Molly Guntli (five steals) added 14 points each for the Bears (5-2, 3-1), who jumped out to a 41-20 halftime lead.

12/6/05 Washington (Md.) 60, Haverford 53

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Erica Juliano recorded a game-high 17 points, while Bea Chang netted 13 for the Fords (1-7, 0-3). Katie Crowley recorded the lone double-double of the game, scoring 13 points while pulling down 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

Sophomore guard Elise Conway recorded a team-high 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals for the Shorewomen (1-5, 1-2), who opened the game with a 7-0 run, and a 9-2 run to start the first five minutes of the contest. Washington forced 12 of Haverford's 22 total turnovers in the first half, helping lead them to a 25-21 advantage at the break. Washington committed only five turnovers in the first half, and 12 for the contest.

Haverford came back and took a 33-31 lead with 14:12 remaining in the game, but Washington went on an 18-7 run over the next eight and a half minutes to give them a 48-38 lead with 6:30 to go. The Fords did not go away quietly, cutting the Washington lead to 56-53 on a Bea Chang jump shot with 27 seconds left in the game.

Washington guard Meghan Luterzo was then fouled by Sarah Nagle with 26.3 seconds remaining, and sank two straight free-throws to increase the Washington lead to 58-53. Haverford drove the floor and missed its next two three-point field goal attempts.
Sophomore guard Irene Pastorino collected the rebound on Haverford's last three-point attempt and was immediately fouled. Pastorino hit two free-throws to give Washington the 60-53 victory.

The Shorewomen shot 37% from the floor, while the Fords shot 44%. Haverford out-rebounded Washington by a margin of 36-33.

12/4/05 Seven Sisters Tournament at Smith College

1st place: Mount Holyoke 63, Swarthmore 57

7th place: Bryn Mawr 59, Haverford 56

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Three players scored in double figures for Bryn Mawr (2-5), led by all-tournament selection Jessica Allen's game-highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Haverford (1-6) held a 28-26 lead at halftime, but Bryn Mawr made a 12-3 run to open the second half. The Fords rallied to tie the score at 50 with 4:53 remaining, but the Owls outscored them, 9-6, on hoops by Allen and Amy Johnson to take the win.

The Fords were led by all-tournament performer Katie Crowley with 17 points and 11 rebounds and fellow senior Claire Scribner with 11 points.

12/3/05 Seven Sisters Tournament at Smith College (Second Round)
Vassar 62, Haverford 55

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Junior Abby Scattergood scored 12 points on perfect five-for-five shooting from the field (including two three-pointers), but Haverford couldn't overcome a big first-half deficit in a 62-55 loss to Vassar on Saturday in the second round of the Seven Sisters Tournament at Smith College.

The Fords (1-5, 0-2) trailed 36-23 at halftime, but Scattergood, senior Katie Crowley (15 points, five rebounds) and senior Claire Scribner (10 points, six rebounds) helped Haverford outscore Vassar in the second half.

Junior Lizzie Evans scored 14 points and seniors Erin Harper and Natalie Serkowski each added 12 points for Vassar (3-3), which ended a three-game losing streak.

Haverford will play the loser of the Bryn Mawr-St. Joseph's on Sunday at 9 a.m.

12/2/05 Seven Sisters Tournament at Smith College (First Round)
Mount Holyoke 54, Haverford 47

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Joeanna Silvey and Christine Godin scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, to lead the three-time defending tournament champion Lyons to a 54-47 defeat of Haverford.

Katie Crowley scored 14 with Bea Chang adding 13 in the loss for Haverford (1-4).

The Lyons jumped off to an early 11-6 lead at the 13:34 mark but the Fords tied the game up at 11 and again at 16. Mount Holyoke jumped ahead again by five with 1:32 remaining but a made free throw by Liz Theibert and basket by Katie Crowley brought the Fords to within two at the half, 22-20. The game remained close in the second half until the Lyons opened up a seven-point lead with just under two minutes remaining.

Jeanne Powers and Jonee Billy combined for 22 of the team's 42 rebounds for Mount Holyoke.

11/30/05 Franklin & Marshall 73, Haverford 65

HAVERFORD -- Senior forward Katie Crowley (28 points, 6 rebounds) broke the Haverford College women's basketball career scoring record as the Fords fell short against Franklin & Marshall, 73-65, on Wednesday in Gooding Arena.

Crowley, who currently has 1,058 career points, passed Amy Taylor's (class of 1992) mark of 1,057. Taylor set her record in 77 games; Crowley surpassed it in 74.

Crowley's record-setting performance was not enough to help the Fords (1-3, 0-2) overcome a 14-point halftime deficit. First-year forward Brittany Lattisaw (16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks) helped Haverford cut the F&M lead to two with 9:46 remaining in the game, but the Dips quickly responded by rebuilding the lead to 13 points.

The Dips (2-3, 1-1) were led by sophomore guard Brittany Braxton (16 points, 15 rebounds), senior forward Emily Weaver (14 points, 10 rebounds), senior guard Dana Johns (14 points), and senior guard Christy Strunk (13 points).

11/22/05 Dickinson 76, Haverford 46

CARLISLE -- Patrice Johnson scored 12 of her game-high 16 points in the second half, and Ally Teatom added 12 points and 16 rebounds for host Dickinson in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

The Red Devils (2-1, 1-0) scored the first 18 points of he second half to pull away from a 30-28 halftime lead. The Fords (1-2, 0-1) had earned their final lead in the game, 18-16, on a Brittany Lattisaw layup with 8:57 left in the first half.

Haverford hung tough behind Bea Chang's 14 points, while Kathleen Abels matched the next-best totals Erica Juliano (seven points) and Katie Crowley (six rebounds).

11/20/05 Haverford HerSport Invitational

Third Round
Haverford 68, St. Joseph (Vt.) 37

HAVERFORD -- Senior Claire Scribner scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for host Haverford, which claimed second-place in its season-opening, three-team round-robin Sunday afternoon.

Scribner was joined on the all-tournament team by classmate Katie Crowley, who led the Fords (1-1) in points and rebounds in their opening 65-63 loss Friday. On Sunday, frosh Kathleen Abels added 12 points and four of the Fords' 21 steals, while senior Meredith Foote was next among the hosts' 13 scorers in the game with seven points.

Irene Tompkins (14 points, 18 rebounds) and Vicky Guetti (eight points, eight rebounds) were all-tournament selections for the Fighting Saints (0-4). Tournament champion Immaculata (2-0) was represented on the all-tourney team by Most Valuable Player Karen Specht and Kasey Hicks.

HAVERFORD -- Senior Katie Crowley recorded game-highs with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists, but Haverford dropped its debut in the new Gardner Center Gooding Arena Friday evening.

Kasey Hicks (three first-half three-pointers), Meg Legere and Karen Specht matched Crowley's point total and Hicks and Dominique Murray tied Crowley's rebound mark for the Mighty Macs (1-0).

Frosh Kathleen Abels added 11 points and senior Claire Scribner added 10 points and six rebounds for the Fords (0-1), who rallied from an early 11-2 deficit to briefly overtake their guests by one point three times in the final three minutes. Immaculata regained the lead for good, 62-61, on a Legere layup with 1:03 left, then got two free throws from Specht and one from Legere in the final 22 seconds.
