Seniors Abby Scattergood and Kate Wettstein
have been chosen as captains of the 2006-07 Haverford College women's
basketball team.
Scattergood, who played in 24 games last season, is the teams leading
returning scorer from last season, when she averaged 7.9 points
per game. Scattergood's defense also shined in 2005-06, when she
accumulated a team-high 55 steals, good for seventh in the Centennial
Conference. Her 44.5% shooting percentage from the floor was also
tops on the team, and tenth in the conference.
Head coach Jim Osborne expects Wettstein to have an increased role
for the team both on and off the court this season. Wettstein, who
played in 18 games last season, will be called upon this season
to help lead the Fords, with her steady play in the post, to victory
in 2006-07.
