HAVERFORD, PA - Visiting
Ursinus used a 18-5 run over the final 8:36 of play en route to a
63-45 Centennial Conference women's basketball victory Thursday evening
at Gooding Arena. Sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw led the Fords
with team-highs of ten points and four blocks along with six rebounds
in the losing effort.
Haverford battled Ursinus in the first half and saw itself down only
four points at the half. The Fords stayed within seven points of the
Bears for the majority of the second half before being held to only
five points over the final 8:36 of the game.
Freshman forward Sara Cram grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and
scored eight points, while sophomore guard Kathleen Abels also tallied
eight points for Haverford. Junior forward Kendra Smythe recorded
season-highs with seven points and four rebounds.
Carolyn Konstanzer and Molly Guntli each had double-doubles for the
Bears (15-9 overall, 11-6 Centennial). Konstanzer had a game-high
17 points on 8-of-9 shooting along with ten rebounds, while Guntli
had 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Mary Kate Daley added 15
points for Ursinus in the win.
Haverford (5-18, 3-14) will play its last game of the season at home
on Saturday against Centennial rival Swarthmore at 4:00 p.m.
