Haverford Sinks Swarthmore, 74-66
Lattisaw Grabs Career-High 16 Rebounds in Win
HAVERFORD, PA - Sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw
grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and scored 11 points for her sixth
double-double of the season as host Haverford defeated rival Swarthmore,
74-66 in Centennial Conference women's basketball action Saturday
afternoon. Haverford finishes the season with a 6-18 overall record
and a 4-14 in Centennial play while Swarthmore completes its season
at 4-20 and 1-17.
Haverford took a 34-33 lead into the half, but Swarthmore came back
and scored the first four points of the second half to take a 37-33
advantage. Haverford followed with a 7-0 run over a 3:58 period
to take a 42-37 lead with 14:34 remainin. The Fords didn't give
up the lead throughout the remainder of the game en route to the
74-66 win.
Senior guard Abby Scattergood had 15 points and dished out a game-high
six assists. Sophomore guard Kathleen Abels had 11 points while
freshman Sara Cram added ten points in the win.
Swarthmore was led by Karen Berk's game-high's of 23 points and
18 rebounds. Pamela Costello also had 23 points and 11 rebounds
for her second career double-double.
Haverford forced 21 Swarthmore turnovers while only committing 12.
The Fords out-rebounded Swarthmore 49-46, but the Garnet shot 41.3%
from the floor while the Fords shot 37.5%.
The Haverford double-header sweep on Saturday is the first of its
kind since February 4, 1998. Box Score
