Gettysburg Defeats Haverford, 74-58
GETTYSBURG , PA - Host Gettysburg College jumped out to a 46-25
halftime lead en route to a 74-58 Centennial Conference women's
basketball victory over visiting Haverford College this afternoon.
With the win, the Bullets improve to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in conference
play, while the Fords fall to 2-10 and 1-6 with the loss.
Courtney Fields scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed three rebounds
for Gettysburg. Allie Drechsler added 14 points, while Katie Reilly
and Ali Goldsmith scored 12 points.
Haverford guard Kathleen Abels led the team with 11 points while
grabbing four rebounds. Freshman Sara Cram added ten points and
a team-high three steals, while senior guard Abby Scattergood tallied
eight points, seven rebounds and four assists. Caroline Feldman
also had eight points in the losing effort for Haverford.
Gettysburg shot 44% from the field in the game to Haverford's 33%.
The Fords were out rebounded by a 55-33 margin.
The Fords return to action Wednesday with a 6:00
p.m. Centennial Conference game at Swarthmore.
