Regals Reject Fords, 70-41
THOUSAND OAKS, CA - Posada Royale Tournament host California Lutheran
jumped out to a 37-20 halftime lead en route to a 70-41 victory over
Haverford College Tuesday evening. Sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw
led Haverford with eight points and a game-high three blocks in the
loss.
The Regals flew out of the gates, jumping out to a 27-8 lead over
the first 13:11 of the contest. Haverford couldn't close the deficit
to less than double-digits throughout the rest of the game, as California
Lutheran cruised to the 70-41 victory.
Kathleen Abels and Sara Cram each had seven points for Haverford,
while senior Abby Scattergood had team-highs of seven rebounds and
four assists. The Regals Nita Sims registered her first double-double
in the win, scoring ten points while grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.
California Lutheran shot 48.3% from the field while Haverford shot
just 28.1% in the game. The Regals out rebounded the Fords by a 54-36
margin. California Lutheran improves to 3-5 overall, while Haverford
drops to 2-6 on the season.
Haverford will play Colorado College in the consolation game of the
Posada Royale Tournament. Colorado College was defeated by Chapman,
69-61, in the opening contest of the tournament Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday's tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. local time.
