Lattisaw Registers First Triple-Double in Haverford History;
Sets Program Blocks Record in 52-47 Win Over Bryn Mawr
HAVERFORD, PA - Haverford sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw recorded
the first triple-double in Haverford basketball history with 20 points,
12 rebounds and a school-record ten blocked shots, as the host Fords
(4-12 overall, 3-8 Centennial) downed the visiting Owls (4-13, 1-10),
52-47, Thursday evening in Centennial Conference women’s basketball
action.
Bryn Mawr jumped out to 19-11 lead to open the game, but Haverford
closed out the first 6:10 of the first half on a 14-4 run to take
a 25-23 lead into the locker room. The Fords kept running over the
first 5:37 of the second half, starting the period with an 8-0 run
to extend their lead to 33-23.
After Bryn Mawr had reduced a 44-34 deficit to 46-45 over a span of
three minutes late in the second half, Lattisaw put back a foul line
jumper after a pair of Haverford misses with 47 seconds remaining.
Lattisaw then notched her eighth block and ninth rebound of the second
half on the defensive end, ending the Owls’ hopes of a comeback
on their next possession.
Senior guard Abby Scattergood had game-highs of six assists and five
steals for the Fords. Freshman Sara Cram had 12 points before leaving
the game following a collision with 12:29 remaining. Lattisaw has
had at least one block in 13 straight games, and in 15 of the Fords
16 games this season. Coming into tonight’s contest, Lattisaw
was third in the Centennial in blocks, averaging 1.80 per game.
Bryn Mawr was led by Amy Johnson’s 13 points and 16 rebounds,
good for her fifth double-double of the season. Owls’ guard
Katie Driscoll added 12 points in the losing effort.
The Fords return to action Saturday with a 1:00
p.m. contest at Centennial opponent McDaniel.
