Owls Fly Past Fords, 66-51
Scattergood Registers Second Double-Double of Season in Loss
BRYN MAWR, PA - Shanika
Bridges-King, Jessica Allen and Amy Johnson each recorded double-doubles
to lead host Bryn Mawr to a 66-51 Centennial Conference women's
basketball victory over Haverford Tuesday evening at Schwartz Gym.
Haverford senior guard Abby Scattergood registered her second double-double
of the season and third of her career with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
The Fords were down by as many as six midway through the first half,
but came back to tie the game at 14 with 7:21 left to go in the
period. With the game tied at 20, Bryn Mawr closed out the first
half on a 9-0 run over the final 3:28 of the half to take a 29-20
lead into the locker room. The Owls extended their lead to as many
as 18 points with 10:56 to go after going on a 10-0 run over a 3:11
span. Haverford couldn't close the gap to less than ten points the
rest of the game, as Bryn Mawr went on to the 66-51 win.
Sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw had 14 points and six rebounds,
while freshman guard Sara Cram added 12 points for Haverford in
the losing effort.
Bryn Mawr was led by Allen's 20 points and 12 rebounds and Bridges-King's
18 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson finished with 11 points and ten
rebounds for the Owls.
The victory improves Bryn Mawr's record to 6-18 overall and 3-14
in Centennial play. Haverford dips to 5-17 and 3-13 with the loss.
Haverford will host Ursinus Thursday evening. Game time is slated
for 7:00 p.m.
