Seniors Ray Brown and Mike Fratangelo have been
chosen to captain the 2006-07 Haverford College men's basketball
team.
Brown returns as the squads leading returning scorer from 2005-06.
Last season, Brown averaged 10.1 points and tied a team-high averaging
5.3 rebounds per contest. He was seventh in the Centennial Conference,
averaging 2.17 offensive rebounds per game. Brown shot a team-high
53.1% from the floor, good for seventh last year in the Centennial
Conference, and 73.7% from the charity stripe, which put him 11th
in the conference. Brown was only one of two Fords to register
double-digit block (12) and steal (17) totals during the 2005-06
season.
Fratangelo, who played and started in all 24 of the Fords games
last year, averaged 5.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per
game in 2005-06. Fratangelo was second on the team in free throw
percentage (71.9%) and fourth in steals (21).
Brown and Fratangelo will look to lead a young a talented group
of Fords back to the Centennial postseason in 2006-07.
