Haverford Sets Shooting Record in Victory
WESTMINSTER, MD – Visiting Haverford
College (8-10 overall, 7-5 Centennial) set a new program record,
sinking 66.7% (26-for-39) of its shots from the field en route
to a 67-63 win over McDaniel (8-8, 5-5) in Centennial Conference
men's basketball action Saturday afternoon. Four players recorded
double-digit point performances for Haverford in the win.
Haverford started the first eight minutes of the game up 13-6
on McDaniel. The Green Terror slowly worked its way back into
the game, and knotted the game at 20 with 3:50 remaining in the
first half. Sophomore guard Greg Rosnick hit a three-pointer with
ten seconds left in the half to put the Fords up 30-27. Haverford
would not go into the halftime intermission with the lead, as
Green Terror guard Ryan Brandenburg drove the floor and hit a
three-point basket of his own as the half expired to even the
game at 30-30.
Both teams struggled to break away in the second half, as each
team's biggest lead in the half would be five points. With 2:40
left in the game, Haverford sophomore guard Chaz Thomas made a
layup off a pass from senior guard Mike Fratangelo to put the
Fords up 63-61. Neither team could score on its next possession.
With 45 seconds left, McDaniel forced a turnover and knotted the
game at 63. With the shot clock winding down, sophomore forward
Brent Anderson hit a 15-foot jumper on the right wing off a pass
from Rosnick to give Haverford a 65-63 edge. Thomas stole the
inbound pass directly under the basket, and laid the ball up and
in to ice the 67-63 Haverford win. Haverford made 71.4% (15-of-21)
of its shots from the field and went 6-for-6 from the charity
stripe in the second half.

shooting and seven rebounds in the game. Anderson, in his first
start since November 21, scored a season-high 14 points on 7-of-8
shooting while pulling down six rebounds and dishing out four
assists. Rosnick added 13 points and a season-high eight assists
along with five rebounds, while Thomas contributed 11 points and
