Dave Beccaria, entering his 12th year as head coach, has led the Haverford College baseball program to unprecedented heights. Under his direction, the Fords have established new single-season records for wins five times, contended for a Centennial Conference championship on an annual basis, and developed into one of the better Division III teams in the country.

In 2011, the Fords finished with an overall record of 32-10 and in the process set a record for wins in a season, earned their first national ranking (as high as No. 26), appeared in the Centennial playoffs for the sixth time in the last seven years, and competed in the conference championship game for the fourth time in the past six seasons.

Beccaria’s 2011 graduates own the distinction of being the winningest class (100-57-2) in the history of baseball at Haverford College.

Beccaria is a 1996 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he was a third baseman and captain for the Blue Jays. In 1997, he served as Hopkins' junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach while earning his master's degree in liberal arts. Beccaria joined Haverford's coaching staff as hitting instructor and recruiting coordinator in 1998 and was promoted to head baseball coach in July 2000.

In the summer of 1994, Beccaria was head coach of the Aarau Hawks of the Swiss national league. He also has served as director of baseball operations and hitting instructor at SportsChallenge, a two-week sports/leadership camp designed for aspiring collegiate student-athletes.

A member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the ABCA coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, Beccaria lives in Springfield, Pa. with his wife, Susie and daughter, Avery.

Longtime bench coach Kevin Morgan brings a high level of energy, enthusiasm and expertise as well as a unique style to Haverford baseball. Founder and director of the country's leading sports leadership program, SportsChallenge, Morgan coached and played for the three-time British national champion Cobham Yankees. He also holds a master's degree in education from Harvard University.

Dan Crowley '90, the former head coach at Friends Central School, enters his 11th year on the coaching staff to continue his work with the outfielders and baserunners. Under his guidance, Haverford has become known for its aggressive offensive style and excellence on the basepaths. Since 2002, when Crowley joined the Fords’ coaching staff, Haverford has ranked second through seventh in the country in stolen bases every year with the exception of 2006 (16th in the country).  The Fords established a new Haverford record for steals in 2011 with 161 successful swipes -- third-most in NCAA D-III -- in 180 attempts. Crowley had a distinguished playing career at Haverford and held the program record for runs scored in a career (129) until the mark was broken in 2011 by Charlie Carluccio '11 who scored 144 runs over his career with the Fords.

A standout first baseman and all-conference performer during his playing career at Haverford, Tim McLean '06 returns for his fifth year on the coaching staff to work with the team’s infielders and hitters. McLean has proven to be an excellent teacher and one of the better young coaches in college baseball. McLean played baseball for the Brussels Kangaroos in Belgium after graduating from Haverford, and he still ranks among the college’s all-time leaders in a number of offensive categories.

Former Haverford hurler Nat Ballenberg enters his first year as the Fords' pitching coach. Under his tutelage, Haverford pitchers performed at an extremely high level in 2011. Ballenberg played professionally in Israel and Germany and coached pitchers at the high school level prior to joining the Haverford coaching staff.
