Haverford has two full-time certified athletic trainers
- and a host of trained and experienced student athletic trainers
- who work with the college's 21 varsity teams in order to ensure
the health and safety of the student-athletes.
In addition, the athletic training staff collaborates
with the college's Office of Health Services, local orthopedic
doctors - who visit campus regularly in order to offer their assistance
- and the surrounding hospitals, two of which are within five
minutes of campus.
Practices and games are monitored and supported
by the athletic training staff, and nearly all diagnoses and treatment/rehabilitation
of injuries take place on campus.
The athletic training staff also supports the college's
physical education and wellness curriculum - offering courses
on CPR, the fundamentals of athletic training, and the physiology
of exercise, among other subjects.
