Juniors Emily Hinchcliff and Dana Mullenhard
have been named co-captains of the Haverford College volleyball
team for the 2006 season.
Hinchcliff and Mullenhard will be leading a very talented
Haverford squad which has made the Centennial Conference postseason
tournament in each of its past five seasons.
Hinchcliff will once again assume the role as the Fords starting
setter in 2006. Hinchcliff, who set program records in assists (1,209)
and assists per game (11.09) as a freshman in 2004, was fourth in
the CC in 2005 with 1,066 total assists for an average of 10.55
per game. Her 1,066 assists were good for third-best in program
history while her 10.55 assists per game last season are second
in program history only to her 2004 average.
Mullenhard finished the 2005 campaign second on the
team with a .252 hitting percentage, which was also good for eighth
in the conference. Mullenhard was also second on the squad with
50 service aces, and fourth on the team in kills (248), kills per
game (2.48), blocks (27), and blocks per game (0.27).
Haverford will open up the 2006 season at home on
Friday September 1st at 7 p.m. with a Centennial Conference tilt
against Ursinus.
