Haverford Golfers
Make Strong Showing at Rutgers-Camden Invitational
Junior captain Jamie Lewis and Fords
freshmen Sang Lee and Kevin McGravey tied for 13th individually
out of 42 golfers with identical rounds of 84 as Haverford's club
golfers finished in the top half of the eight-team field Friday
afternoon at Maple Ridge Golf Club.
Swarthmore's Zach Moody was the medalist
with a round of four-over 76 on the 6,376-yard, par-72 layout.
Fords Show Improvement
at Conference Championships
Haverford sent its first full team
to the otherwise-varsity Centennial championships at Eagle's Landing
GC, and the Fords' club golfers responded with improving scores
each day (368-358-350) and their best score in competition since
the return of the sport to Haverford in Spring 1999.
Sophomores Jamie Lewis (260) and Lee
Herron (266) each had two of their three rounds in the 80's in
the 54-hole tourney, with senior Garrett McVaugh (272) and freshman
Angad Singh (278) posting six consistent scores between 89 and
95. The Fords' total of 350 on Sunday, led by Lewis' 82 and Herron's
second straight 86, topped their previous best of 352 at the Moravian
Invitational on Oct. 8, 2002, when McVaugh posted his collegiate-low
of 80.
Muhlenberg held on to win the team
title Sunday, with F&M's Carson Crooms taking the medalist
honors on 74-74-82 shooting.
