Chris Spencer Named Haverford College Fencing Coach
Haverford College is pleased to announce Chris
Spencer as its new head men’s and women’s fencing
coach. Most recently head coach at Mount Holyoke College, Spencer
becomes just the fourth mentor in the 75-year history of Haverford's
varsity fencing program. He inherits the Fords' successful tradition
created by coaches Henri Gordon (1932-82), Jim Murray (1982-2001)
and David Littell (2001-07).more...

Littell Resigns as Haverford Fencing Coach
Haverford head men’s and women’s
fencing coach Dave Littell has announced his resignation as head
coach of both fencing teams effective June 30, 2007. This winter,
Littell led the women’s fencing team to a third-place tie
-- its best finish ever -- at the 79th National Intercollegiate
Womens Fencing Association Championships and coached the men’s
fencers to a 2007 Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association
(MACFA) team championship, the third in program history. In 2003-04,
Littell coached the Fords to their first MACFA Championship since

Fords End Season With strong NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional
Showing
Haverford had an excellent showing in the very
tough NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South regional qualifying tournament which
included division I opponents such as Penn State, Rutgers, Duke,
North Carolina, Penn, and Princeton. Senior Woden Kusner medalled,
placing 6th in men's foil.more...

Haverford Women Soar to Best Finish Ever at NIWFA Championship
The Haverford women fencers finished tied for third - its best
finish ever - at the 79th NIWFA fencing championships at Smith
College in Amherst Mass. on Saturday, March 3. The tournament
field was quite large and included 18 teams. Sabre and Epee shared
bragging rights for the best weapon result, each placing third
in their respective weapons.more...

Six Fencers Earn All-EWFC Honors
On Sunday the women’s fencing team competed
at Stevens Institute of Technology in the Eastern Women’s
Fencing Conference Individual Championship. Haverford had six
fencers named to the EWFC All-Conference team with three on the
first team and three on the second team. more...
