A trio of seniors and one junior will
captain head coach Fran Rizzo’s 2006 women’s cross
country squad this fall. Seniors Kelly Cannon, Maxine Markfield,
and Danielle Stollak along with junior Jane Weber will look to
guide the Fords to their fourth NCAA Division III Nationals appearance
over the past five seasons.
Cannon, Markfield and Stollak will bring experience
and leadership to a very young and talented Haverford women’s
cross country team.
Weber will look to help lead the Fords to
a first place Centennial Conference finish after placing second
in each of the past six seasons. Weber placed in the top 20 in
every race she participated in, and recorded four top-six finishes
last season. She finished sixth (22:56) at the Centennial Conference
Championships en route to earning first team All-Centennial honors,
and also placed 19th (23:19.3) and just missed qualifying for
nationals by seven places, at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals.
