Johnson & Allen Post Double-Doubles in 58-40 Bryn Mawr Win

HAVERFORD, PA– Bryn Mawr College senior guard Amy Johnson notched her second double-double of the Seven Sisters Women's Basketball Tournament witha game-high 18 points along with 15 rebounds, while sophomore forward Jessica Allen recorded her first double-double of the tournament with ten points 18 rebounds to lead the Owls to a 58-40 victory over St. Joseph (CT) Sunday morning in the seventh place game of the torunament.

The first half was close all the way, as the Owls went into the locker room with a 26-24 lead. The Owls came out with a 7-0 run over the first 5:00, increasing their lead to 33-24. Bryn Mawr held St. Joseph to 0-8 shooting from the floor and forced four turnovers in its early second half run. The Owls extended their lead to 16 points on a three-point basket by Katie Driscoll with 7:30 remaining in the game, which helped seal the 58-40 win.

The Owls also got 17 points from junior guard Katie Driscoll on three-of-six shooting from beyond the arc.

St. Joseph was led by Keri Hallberg's 17 points. The Blue Jays also got ten points and two assists from Araya Koonce.

Bryn Mawr out rebounded St. Joseph by a 45-31 margin, and held the Blue Jays to 29.8% shooting. The Owls shot 40.4% in the game, and 50% in the second half.

Bryn Mawr improves its overall record to 2-5 after going 1-2 in the Seven Sisters tournament, while St. Joseph falls to 2-5 overall with a 0-3 record in Seven Sisters play.
