All injuries should be reported to
the athletic trainers in order to ensure that appropriate actions
are taken.
The athletic training room is open
each day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until the scheduled activities
for the day have been completed. The athletic trainers also are
available in the mornings, by appointment.
New injuries and out-of-season student-athletes
should seek treatment between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. or
after 4:30 p.m.
All student-athletes should sign the
treatment log prior to receiving treatment.
It is the student-athlete's responsibility
to ensure that they arrive early enough to receive treatment prior
to practice.
All equipment should be stored in the
locker room and is not to be brought into the athletic training
room.
Insurance
Haverford College has a secondary insurance
policy that aids in the payment of bills due to athletic injuries.
To be eligible for this coverage, an injury must occur at an official
practice or game that falls within the team's declared (traditional
or non-traditional) season. An injury that occurs outside of these
settings is not eligible for consideration under this policy.
To file a secondary insurance claim,
the student-athlete must present the following:
- Itemized bills for all procedures
that have remaining balances. (A report of account balance is
not sufficient.)
- Explanation of benefits or a letter of denial from the primary
insurance provider. (Claims that have not been processed by the
primary insurance provider will not be considered.)
All documents should be sent to:
